Great Studio Mic - Best I found for the money

What can you say... I remember spending almost this much on a Shure SM58 to use with my $500.00 Tascam recorder that used cassette tapes that hissed like crazy. A mic like this back 8 or 10 years ago was 400 to 800 bucks. For under 200 a studio mic didnt even exist. Now we have digital recording systems that fit on a thumb drive that would have cost a zillion dollars 10 years ago. The technology has come so far so fast. This mic was just untouchable for 3 times its price. Ok... enough history. In my opinion this is probably the best mic in the 100-200 range. I have used some cad mics, as well as some of the cheap ones. Believe me, that 50-80 dollar Samson or MXL mic isnt worth saving 40 or 50 bucks. This mic shines above those. How do I know... Well becuase I bought this mic to replace my Samson that got knocked over. I called and talked to a guy named Terry at World Music Supply and when I asked about replacing the Samson which I bought last year from them, he asked I would like a suggestion. He said to consider the AT2020 microphone. He said it was well worth the small amount more. He obviously has used this thing because I love this thing for the money. Sure it is no Neuman U86 but come on... for a hundred to 200 dollar range... you cant beat it. Ok.. thats my opinion of the AT2020 mic for my studio.
