A real drum set scaled down for the aspiring young drummer.
The CB Percussion JRX55 is the perfect entry level beginner drum set for
children. It is smaller than a full size set, but that s about all that makes it
different. It is not your department store toy. All wood shells, fully tunable
"real" drum heads, full 5 piece (plus cymbals) with correctly mounted drums on
solid hardware.
All drums are adjustable in height, angle, and position (except
bass drum) to grow with your child. In a nutshell, if you take a full size drum
kit and shrink it down just a bit, you get the JRX55 set. This set is recommend
for ages as young as 3 or 4 and up perhaps 8 or 9 depending on size. We are
often asked by parents "which set is right for their child", and get many calls
on this subject. We feel at about age 8 or 9 or about 54-60 inches tall is where
most children are in that in between size and could comfortable go either way. A
full size kit of course would never be outgrown. If you feel your child has a
great interest and is likely to "stick to it" then you might consider a full
size set even as young as 7 years old.
The JRX 55 junior drum set takes up about
a 3 foot by 3 foot area. An average full size drum set takes up about 4x4 or
sometimes 5x5 depending on setup. Earplugs not included....
