I bought this pedal because I was looking for that classic fuzzines. I use a Boss DS-1 for distortion, but even on it's lowest gain setting you get a heavy, harsh dist. Of course I was thinking of Hendrix in my purchase. However I fond this pedal to sound verry little like Jimi. The sound and controls are very limited. It almost sounds like a blown speaker drivin high. I could not find a good sound from the F.F. The only decent fuzz sound I can get is on a good tube amp tuned up. On my solid states the sound is flat, and terible. oh and have fun replacing the battery, since it has no external power. I recomend a mild overdrive pedal. The Boss fuzz is very versitile, but it is more modern sounding, and hard to get a analog 60's fuzz from. but otherwise sounds great. I bought a hardwire CM-2 tube overdrive to replace the FF. it has a clasic setting where you can get a great classic fuzziness from.
