Beautiful clean tones and great grit!

First - I have always loved the sound of a hollowbody and this Washburn has just what it needs to be incredibly clean and jazzy or even really gritty/bluesy. It sounds great for the clubs where I play. It's got a nice warmed chunk to it, so it sounds really thick but it still sounds smooth and crisp. I play it through a Bugera V22 which is perfect because I can get that drive that sounds so good with a hollowbody - perfect for a blues sound.
Not only does it have a great tone - but it looks great too! I am a sucker for sunbursts...so naturally, the tobacco sunburst was a great choice. I don't know if they have other options for this guitar, but the one on this website is gorgeous, so I didn't have to find out! It has very nice/simple inlays and a sleek neck that feels great. And the binding adds a nice touch...
Overall - plays great, feels great, looks great, and sounds amazing!

Great hollow body deal.

My new Washburn J3 is a killer deal for a versatile hollowbody. It does everything I ask of it with real tone. The double humbucking configuration is great for doing all kinds of clean stuff. And when its time to get dirty this guitar does not quit on me. I can get great sounds with ovedrive ala Ted Nugent and it will get pretty far out there without feeding back. Actually, its kind of fun learning how to handle the feedback thing. It can be controlled to the point where it is quite musical. As for looks, the sunburst is nicely done and the florentine cutaway is classic cool. I would certainly buy another one if I were ever to ose this one. 5 stars all the way.
