A real drum set scaled way down for the
first time little drummer. The CB Percussion JRX3 is the perfect entry first
drum set for children. It is much smaller than a full size set, but built like a
real drum set. Far and above your department store toy, the all wood shells, and
fully tunable "real" drum heads set it apart right away. Don't be fooled by
cardboard sets with thin plastic heads that you cant tune or replace. The set
features a 10 inch snare drum and 8 inch tom tom mounted to the 14 inch bass
drum which are in height and angle.
This set is recommend for ages up to 5 or 6
depending on size. We are often asked by parents "which set is right for their
child", and get many calls on this subject. At 5 or 6 being average size we
encourage you to a least consider the next larger size. would likely be best
with a mid size drum set, as this set would be outgrown quickly. We feel at
about age 8 or 9 or about 54-60 inches tall is where most children are capable
of playing a full size set comfortably with minimal reach issues. A full size
kit of course would never be outgrown. If you feel your child has a great
interest and is likely to "stick to it" then you might consider going one size
