There is really little comparison between active (9 volt battery powered) EMG Pickups and conventional stock guitar pickups. EMG's frequency response is shaped much differently. Conventional pickups typically have a limited frequency response that has hot spots, but is not consistent across the whole range. EMG pickups have a much broader and smoother bandwidth range. This really brings to life the harmonics and definition of your notes and chords. Each note will be more defined as a result thus accentuating your own personal style and making your personal style stand out.
