Bulbs and replacement lamps are sold without warranty, as there is no possible way to determine a brand new bulb that blows out from the one being replaced. Also Since halogen bulbs if touched are basically ruined by the oils in the skin getting on the bulb (causes them to blow often within an hour or less) they are not returnable. This is due to there being no way of knowing if a bulb is touched. All bulbs come in protective packagine. Use caution in opening as to not touch the glass portion any where. use a paper towel or similar item to hold the bulb when installing.
If you accidentally touch a halogen lamp, wipe it with rubbing alcohol right away. This often helps, but it still may have a shortened life. Also let bulbs cool down before moving them. Hot fillaments are very fragile. Moving or bumping a light can cause a perfect bulb to get a crack in the fillament and thus be useless.
