DMX 512 Intelligent lighting is designed to be used in multiples either with a controller or in stand alone mode usually with one light being the master, and the remaining lights set up in slave mode to follow the lead of the master light which connects via a 3 pin XLR cable in prefect synchronization. Intelligent lighing allows the user to select the movement, or spot location of the beam, the image it projects by selecting which gobo (a filter that makes a pattern as light passes through it), as well as other features in some lights such as motion patterns, figure 8's strobe, iris, blackout, prism effects, and more. Intelligent lighting when used in multiples creates the synchronized effect that was once only affordable in the largest concert areans until recent years as this technology has come down in price and increased in quality and features.
